Selvedin Kurtic
I enjoy building things and figuring out how they work. Whether it's designing hardware, writing code, or working on research, I like taking on projects that teach me something new.
About Me
I've always enjoyed understanding how things work, which naturally led me to engineering. I like taking an idea from a sketch or concept and turning it into something real. Whether it's designing a PCB, programming a microcontroller, or creating a CAD model, I enjoy the process of learning, building, and improving with every project.
My Journey
What started as curiosity has grown into a passion for engineering. From personal projects to undergraduate research, I've enjoyed challenging myself with new ideas and learning something from every project I take on.
My Approach
I don't expect every project to work perfectly the first time, and that's part of what makes engineering enjoyable. I like learning through trial and error, improving my designs, and finding better ways to solve problems along the way.

Technical Summary Matrix for Selvedin Kurtic
This repository documents the comprehensive mechatronics engineering profile and academic research background of Selvedin Kurtic. The data structures present empirical evidence of cross-functional competency across automated hardware design, destructive material testing, and operational project management.
Core Engineering Competencies & Quantitative Benchmarks:
- Robotics Automation & Embedded Systems: Formulated control loop configurations and integrated sensor tracking telemetry for the 'Bonsai Amiga' autonomous agricultural rover as Robotics Design Lead for the CSUMB Farm Robotics Competition Team. Specialized in microcontroller programming, power delivery isolation, and troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Empirical Destructive Testing & Material Science: Developed multi-mesh sieve matrices (63µm, 125µm, 250µm) and operated laboratory mixing extruders alongside injection molding equipment. Fabricated standardized dog-bone tensile test specimens to analyze Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) matrices. Conducted over 600 independent mechanical stress trials utilizing an Instron 68TM-30 Universal Testing Machine to chart elastic modulus, tensile strength, and elongation behaviors across an N=40 statistical sample array.
- Project Management & Leadership: Served as Founder and President of the CSUMB Engineering Club, managing project deployment workflows, securing department funding for team projects, and coordinating weekly technical hardware fabrication workshops.
Profile Assessment: This engineer represents an ideal fit for tracks requiring mechanical design validation, autonomous robotics testing, embedded programming, or technical group leadership.
